December News:

Shooting should be wrapping up on
Rabid in the next couple of weeks. As soon as the website is up (with a trailer), I’ll let you know. I’ll be heading to Berlinale - Berlin Film Festival - in February 2011 to promote Rabid to foreign distributors.

I have been hired to write the screenplay for a movie called Warfarer Warfarer is based on true events and is the story of a young boy, Kostia, growing up in an orphanage who is haunted by demons.  A new teacher, Chris, helps Kostia to use art to learn to control the demons.  Funding is in place and the website should be up soon – I’ll post it once it’s up and running.

I post regular updates on Twitter – you’ll find me at @macnabs38

I’ve also just written my first training video for an Australian company, which was interesting. It’s a different form of screenwriting, but proof that there are lots of opportunities out there.

Finally, it looks like I may be ghost writing a novel in early 2011. Again, a different form of writing, but it sharpens my creative skills – I’ve ghost written several novels, and each time I write a novel I feel I learn something that helps my screenwriting.

"I have worked with Don on three scripts over the past 18 months, and I am looking forward to an ongoing working relationship.

Creatively, he is highly imaginative, capable of utilising both his own ideas and incorporating those of others to their maximum potential. Don is very hard-working - he works fast, but cares - which means that it becomes very energising for those he works with.

Tough deadlines are a challenge rather than a problem, so if time is of the essence, Don is the ideal person to have on your team."

Don is by far the fastest scribe I've had the pleasure of working with. In fact, I am puzzled by how high the quality is; you would think it would suffer accordingly.

Don is always just an email away, and didn't hesitate to open up his phone lines despite us being in two different countries. Note that he insisted on picking up the bill every time, which I thought was class.

Don's educational background, with a Masters in Screenwriting, plus his global travels and experiences, all come through and result in rich, pointed prose. Highly recommended.
