The real trouble didn’t start when the tax man threatened to close down the hotel, or even when
he fell down the stairs and broke his neck minutes later. No, the real trouble started when
he woke up naked in the middle of the rugby pitch...
When Lucy inherits her aunt’s 300 year old hotel, it seems like a dream come true – a place to
settle down and raise a family.
The trouble is, Lucy’s husband Jack also sees the chance of salvation – sell the hotel and pay
his gambling debts before crazed Russian hit-man Boris catches up to him.
While Lucy works hard to revive the ailing enterprise, Jack is busy trying to find a
buyer. The prime candidate is Lucy’s estranged brother, who wants to bulldoze the hotel and
build a luxury golf resort before the surrounding area is declared a nature reserve.
Between the vodka-soaked hit man, the shell-shocked gardener, and the ancient and eccentric
inhabitants of the hotel, Lucy has her work cut out.
But when a rare breed of bird is found nearby, it seems that all Lucy’s prayers have been
answered – bird watchers flock to the hotel, and the resort development plans are put on
hold. All is well until Jack goes on a drunken binge and kills the bird...
Lucy’s Hotel is a warm-hearted comedy with a twist of the bizarre, a fast-paced roller coaster
ride on Lucy’s dream of happily ever after.
